Unofficial mediation leads to all parties wanting charges dismissed
The Situation
This came from a dispute involving current and ex romantic partners. Neighbors called for law enforcement and charges were taken out. The client was charged with an A1 misdemeanor of Crime of Domestic Violence and Class 2 Misdemeanor for Simple Assault. Our client had also secured charges against the other individuals involved.
Our Approach
Our goal walking into court was to try and mediate between all parties to see if the charges could be dropped and everyone go their separate ways. Once we discovered that the other parties involved did not have Counsel, we took the lead to strategically see if this outcome was possible. Once it became clear that it was, we worked with all parties to sit down, agree to go their separate ways, and dismiss all charges against one another.

Dismissal of all charges before trial due to agreement by all Parties and the State of North Carolina
