I was born and raised in North Carolina. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with honors and a minor in music from Elon University. While attending Elon University, I was involved in a lot of activities including: Department of Music – Opera Workshop, Jazz Ensemble, Camerata Sacred Ensemble, Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, Vice President of Education, Alumnae Relations, North Carolina AOH Day Chairman, and Senior Programmer.

I obtained a juris doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law. Activities in law school included: Pro Bono Project Executive Board, Organizational Advancement Coordinator, Veterans Advocacy Law Organization (VALOR), and Grant and Awards Writer. Upon graduation I was inducted into the Order of the Barristers for excellence due to my extensive Moot Court experience and the National Moot Court teams.
