Most parents in North Carolina and elsewhere do the best they can raising their children. While discipline is an important part of raising kids, some parents can take it too far. When the discipline becomes abusive, the parents may find themselves in legal hot water. No one knows exactly what led to the incident, but two women in North Carolina have been recently arrested for felony child abuse.
Abuse and arrests
Reports state that two women of Connelly Springs were recently arrested on felony child abuse charges. The arrests came after one the children of one of the women was struck with a pair of metal (brass) knuckles. The attack reportedly happened in the children’s home, and the youngsters had to be hospitalized because of their injuries.
Child Protective Services received an anonymous tip regarding the alleged child abuse, and authorities arrested a 26-year-old woman, who was apparently the children’s mother, and another woman, 25 years old. The report did not specify how many children were involved or their ages, and it did not explain the relationship between the two women, who have different last names. Regardless, both were charged with felony child abuse and are being held on $250,000 bonds.

Although this crime seems horrific on the surface, it is important to remember that these are allegations at this point and neither woman has been convicted of anything.
